Why did I think about it?
Air in India, specially in cities such as New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, etc have a very high air quality index and rank amongst the poorest air quality globally.
All 3 are metropolitan cities which have a lot of offices and small sized apartments.

Air purification in small spaces
Compact, personal air purifiers are becoming popular, particularly in urban
homes and offices, where people live in tight spaces and office layouts are
becoming more compact. In these environments, larger purifiers may not fit
well or be necessary.
How does it work?
1. Air Intake
The purifier's fan draws air through intake vents, creating a low-pressure zone that pulls surrounding air into the device.
2. Filtration
As air enters, it passes through a filter which traps
dust particles, pollutants, and other impurities,
allowing only clean air to move forward.
3. Clean Air Output
The filtered, purified air is then pushed outward
by the fan, circulating back into the room.
4. Repetition
As the clean air is pushed out, a low pressure zone is created again which pulls air for purification and the process repeats

How can I solve it?
Project goal : How might we make air purification more accessible and efficient for small spaces such as office cubicles, hostels and compact homes
Idea 1
By adding a secondary filter, thus taking in almost double amount of air which can improve filtration rate without increasing the power consumption only with a single fan due to more number of holes to intake air
Idea 2
A cylindrical form allows more of filter area inside the form thus I chose it which will again increase efficiency and speed.
Idea 3
By taking in air from the sides and bottom enabling it to take in more air while not compromising on the compact size.
Idea 4
Taking air from below, purifying it and pushing it out upwards is another efficient way so that purified air doesn’t again and again enter the purifier.
